26th September 2015, PADANG KOTA LAMA
Not the faint-hearted, seasoned runners gathered at Esplanade for the 9am flag-off of the Penang Ultra Marathon 2015, organized by Actife Style Concept.
The main objective of this ultra-endurance race was to make Penang world-famous, to be recognized for ultra-running and as a runners’ state. This event consisted of three tough categories: a 50km ultra run, an 84km Round Island and the 100km challenge.
Participants enjoyed the beautiful night views of the longest bridge in Southeast Asia and passed through fishing villages and farms. Runners endured hours of running, while experiencing different terrains that showcased the natural beauty and diversity that Penang has to offer, with prizes waiting for the winners at the end of the race.
The race may have been challenging, but it was filled with beautiful scenic routes and an unforgettable running experience in the dark.
