ASICS brings The ASICS FOOT ID to Aeon Shah Alam

January 2017, Malaysia- ASICS opened a new specialty boutique in AEON Shah Alam, Selangor. It is the second monobrand store in Malaysia to offer the innovative ASICS FOOT ID system, signifying ASICS’ commitment to enabling local athletes and enthusiasts to maximise their potential.

In addition to the value-added FOOT ID service, the sizeable 1,817 square feet store offers a wide range of footwear, accessories and apparel for both running and training categories, catered to men, women and children. It features the ASICS FuzeX for easy running, the highly cushioned GEL-QUANTUM 360, and the newly-released GEL-NIMBUS 19, the most updated and sophisticated version of ASICS’ long-selling long distance running shoe yet. It also features a stylish range of shoes like the FuzeX TR for training and conditioning.

AEON Shah Alam is the latest shopping mall in the trendy, upscale district of Shah Alam. It is owned and managed by the Japanese AEON group, giving it a distinct ambience. The mall features a good mix of food and beverage outlets, and fashion retailers.

“We are constantly looking to expand in Malaysia as it is a key market for us,” says Yogesh Gandhi, Managing Director, ASICS Asia PTE. LTD, “We believe that there is a need for quality sportswear here, and ASICS intends to fill this growing demand, while making the ASICS FOOT ID system more accessible so as to educate fitness explorers on the role of appropriate footwear in injury prevention and maximising potential.”

Conventional foot measurement methods offer only static measurements. The technologically-advanced proprietary ASICS FOOT ID system enables runners to find the most suitable shoes to maximise their athletic potential based on two measurements – static and dynamic. Professionally trained store employees perform the analysis with the ASICS FOOT ID system, with foot shape analysis (static) and gait cycle analysis (dynamic) for walk-in customers. After the static and dynamic analysis, the employees provide the consumers with advice on how to better their performance through understanding their gait and choosing the right footwear.
