One Saturday of each month, their team conducted running clinic. The location of the clinic will be different every time so that the participants won’t get bored easily. Furthermore, a new location gives a different feel to runners and excites them to explore new trails. When it comes to setting a date for a trail running clinic, they put into consideration the availability of every pacer as well as not to clash with big marathons.

It’s a must for the team to do a minimum of 3 times pre-run check before the event. For them to know if the trail is doable and safe for everyone. To avoid participants from getting lost in the trail, Dannie’s team puts papers on the ground that serve as a marker. After every event, the team has a clean-up operation just so to make sure that the forest they run into remains unsoiled and spotless.

The Great Outdoors

In the forest, the sky vanishes almost completely, only a few fragments of blue remain- like scattered pieces of an impossible jigsaw puzzle. The air is rich with the fragrance of leaves, flowers and muddy trail. That’s what the Saturday of each month feels like for the enthusiastic runners and passionate pacers.

A trail running clinic won’t be called a successful one without some difficulties along the way. The biggest challenge for the team is to accommodate everybody’s preference. Some participants would find the trail too easy while others found it otherwise. In order to grant everyone’s wishes, the team needs to strike a balance in between.

Conducting a trail running clinic is never easy. It’s a tough work! There are times that they need to wake up very early in the morning to do necessary preparation. With their aim of getting more people into trail running, it’s worth the effort. “I won’t call it sacrifice. I will call it deep commitment” with his fun personality, Dannie ended the interview with a content smile.
