A month ago, when I received this pair of Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 from Nike Malaysia, I was abundantly excited to try out how they will work on my regular running regime.

Running a 5km, 10km, half marathon or full marathon equally requires a pair of running shoes that are best for your feet shape and running style, to avoid discomfort and irritation to your feet.

A 30-day love affair with Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 may not be long, but I have already been mesmerized by its features which make it one of the stunning running shoes.

Here are why I am greatly in love with Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35;

Design

When I first held Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 in our hands, immediately I was captivated by its aesthetics. The streamlined look is very exquisitely pleasing. Nowadays, there has been an undoubted phenomenon to take not only design but also functionality into consideration, when it comes to buying shoes.

Apart from its great looking façade, the highly resilient sock liners and wider toe box make this shoe fit many different foot shapes. What I also love about this shoe is the zigzag stitching and engineered mesh with Flywire cables. The lightweight mesh construction not only provides enhanced breathability, the Flywire cables also integrates into the lacing system to reduce weight and provide more support. Did I mention that I can even wear it sockless without chafing my feet?

Comfort

One of the very remarkable factors in ensuring an effective and productive run is the comfort that makes me want to keep running over and over again. Constructed with engineered mesh and a partial bootie for a supportive feel while the heel collar is designed to take away from the foot for maximized comfort around our Achilles tendons.

Full-length Zoom Air cushioning offers a responsive, energy-returning bounce with each step. Midsole foot cushioning aids in the prevention of injuries, promotes attenuated impact shock and improved athletic performance. Running can be fairly tiring, however, with the optimal comfort Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 makes long distance running less tiring.

Flexibility

Another benefit of the midsole and outsole of Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 is increased flexibility that adds to the smooth ride. Having run with this shoe for a while now, the shoe has a propulsion feel that really seems to help keep me rolling regardless of where my foot lands. The updated tread pattern on the outsole also helps to provide a better grip and transition.

Last but not least, the shoe is functioned well across a variety of activities like speed running, treadmill running, tempo paced runs, and even long slow runs. With so many captivating features, we have, so far, been enjoying our running sessions.

In addition to its aesthetics, Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 is definitely fitting for different occasions. When I am not running, this pair of shoes can be worn on a daily basis to commute, to shop, to travel, and even, parties – for all-day contentment and relaxation of my feet.

Fast facts about Nike Pegasus

Nike introduced the Pegasus, intended to be the shoe for every runner, in 1983. It was designed to be half air (similar to the winged half-horse it was named after) to represent movement, quickness and the allure of flying.

In its 35 years of life, it has undergone major technology shifts and supported training efforts of countless everyday runners and even some of the world’s best distance runners including Joan Benoit Samuelson, Matthew Centrowtiz, Timothy Cheruiyot, Amy Cragg, Lelisa Desisa, Evan Jager, Geoffrey Kamworor, Eliud Kipchoge, Faith Kipyegon, and Bernard Lagat.

Nike, Inc. founder, Phil Knight, may be wearing a Pegasus (in black) right now. He’s been spotted in Peg at black-tie events, public speaking appearances and between meetings at Nike’s World Campus in Beaverton, Oregon.

In 2004 and for the first time in Pegasus history, the women’s version was adapted specifically for the anatomy of the female foot. The women’s saddle was made more “curvaceous,” and the medial support was increased. It wasn’t until 2006 that it became completely gender specific. And for 2018, if offers responsive Cushlon foam specifically tuned for women for the first time.
