In late September, I received an invitation to participate in Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) 2018. Merely three months left to the race, I absolutely needed a pair of running shoes and adequate training to optimize my performance. Lucky me, Under Armour Malaysia sent a pair of Under Armour UA HOVR Sonic just in time for my preparation.

Under Armour HOVR technology

If you haven’t already known, Under Armour HOVR is a cushioning platform, engineered to provide the ideal combination of cushioning and energy return, all without compromise. The HOVR midsole is made of a proprietary foam compound in partnership with leading innovators Dow Chemical, providing a super-soft durometer with incredible cushioning and shock absorption with every single foot strike.

After receiving UA HOVR Sonic, I run most of my days and have done everything from 5km, 10km, to half-marathon. HOVR is Under Armour’s third cushioning platform, in addition to Micro G and Charged Cushioning. This new pinnacle cushioning system delivers on runners needs to have a shoe that provides not only support but also energy return and shock absorption.

Energy Web

Energy Web is a comprehensive mesh web that contains the cushioning core, helping to maintain the midsole’s shape and, in return, delivers strong responsiveness and energy return.

This combination of advantages makes me feel better and perform better.

With HOVR, the shoe is absorbing some of the impacts my body would normally feel, aiding in my comfort and keeping my legs fresh for the road ahead.

Game-changing cushioning & flexibility

In preparation for SCSM 2018, the UA HOVR Sonic makes me feel like a brand new running experience. Having trained for approximately three months now, UA HOVR cushioning is such a game-changer. This shoe gives me a light and responsive ride, for mile after mile. With its zero gravity feel, Micro G cushioning, and breathability, I have never once felt a twinge of discomfort and irritation during my training sessions. The breathable, structured knit on top locks my foot in, while a removable, anti-microbial Ortholite sockliner lets me customize my insole for comfort.

On top of UA HOVR Sonic’s greatness that has provided to my running, I am sure that this shoe is going to make me run thoroughly smooth and pleasant throughout my half marathon in Singapore.

Why UA HOVR Sonic?

  • For runners who need a balance of cushioning & flexibility.
  • Ventilated midfoot panel increases breathability.
  • Unique tongue construction is attached to the footbed by stretchable support wings to maintain a snug fit throughout the foot.
  • External TPU heel counter for additional support & structure.
  • Blown rubber under the forefoot is lightweight yet incredibly responsive.
