Review: Salomon Outpath GTX Hiking Shoes

The best view comes after the hardest climb.

And the hardest climb requires a pair of hiking shoes.

From casual hiking, mountain climbing to trail running, hiking is now one of the most popular outdoor activities in Malaysia. Why so? Malaysia is home to undeniably stunning nature, with thriving rainforests, unspoiled beaches, and spectacular mountain ranges. How not to get enthralled by the beautiful Mother Earth?

But if you hike with any regularity, it is important to invest in hiking shoes so that you can be more prepared for the changing trail conditions, uneven surfaces and rocks.

Salomon carries a wide selection of technical and stylish trail running shoes, offering comfort, durability, lightness, grip, and protection. For nature, mountain, or trail running enthusiasts, Salomon has the perfect shoes you need to meet the call of the outdoors.

A little while back, we took Salomon Outpath GTX out to explore the trails. Malaysia enjoys tropical weather year round however due to its proximity to water the climate is often quite humid, not forgetting it sometimes can be fickle.

Full bootie construction

Thanks to Salomon Outpath GTX, the upper is made of water-resistant textile, waterproof synthetic, and seamless sensifit.

Regardless of the weather condition, they have kept my feet dry very well, especially walking and running on muddy, moist trails. However, the low cut shoes are not helping in swampy areas.

There’s something to be said for. The low cut hiking shoes can be your go-to for everyday or holiday trips. Lightweight, packable, and comfortable are the reasons you should take this for your next adventure!

Lightweight, flexible, and protective

Apart from its waterproof membrane, the Salomon Outpath GTX is also incredibly lightweight weighing in at only 330g. Despite the lightweight, it offers adequate durability and ankle protection to venture off trails in the woods.

The lightweight materials optimize my movement, strides with less fatigue. We all know that a bad shoe would cause discomfort and blisters, thus stopping you from going faster and further. The design nature of the Salomon Outpath GTX is its breathability and lining material which greatly ease my tired feet, at the same time, avoids blisters.

Needless to say, we’re also fascinated by the injected EVA sockliner and the EVA shaped footbed, exceptionally offering a decent level of cushioning underfoot and flexibility.

High traction Contagrip

Not only is the Salomon Outpath GTX tough, robustly made, it also features the high traction Contagrip on the outsole, which grabs various types of terrain so you stay upright along each mile.

That being said, it adepts at tackling a larger variety of terrains.

Whether your thrill is walking, hiking or running, this hiking shoes will make a long-lasting partner for your trips, providing comfort and protection you need and deserve.
