At 7.30am, a large crowd gathered at Taman Metropolitan for a day of bonding and fun, the healthy way. The Tebu Relay Run 2015 is the second of the three events held under the Juicy Relay Series 2015, organized by First Ascend Sport and Running Guild.
In support of a greener Malaysia, the Tebu Relay Run replaced aluminium baton with sugarcane (tebu). Every team of 3 members had to run 6 laps. The first 3 laps with a baton, and another would be added from the 4th lap till the 6th. All teams had to carry the tebu batons throughout the race, regardless of how they were carried.
That wasn’t the only effort made to be environment-friendly. Participants had to bring their own cups and bottles to help reduce usage & wastage of disposable plastic cups.
All in all, it was all smiles from participants for this “Go Green” movement.
