2nd December 2017, Sepang – It was a fun and unforgettable day for a total of 2,700 die hard Manchester United supporters as they participated in United For Life Run Sepang 2017. Organized by Sports Events House Sdn Bhd with Sunsuria Berhad as the Main Sponsor, it was one of the largest MUFC fan initiated “Run & Watch Series” in the country.
Participants gathered at Sunsuria City as early as 10.00AM to collect their race kit, and to customize their names on the event t-shirts. Besides, there were other side activities such as the King of The Game Tournament, Selfie Photo Booth and more for the participants to enjoy.
The event was flagged off at 9.00PM by the Executive Chairman of Sunsuria Berhad, Tan Sri Datuk Ter Leong Yap, together with Sunsuria Berhad CEO Mr Koong Wai Seng.
“Being a Manchester United fan myself, Sunsuria is honoured to participate in hosting such fun and family-oriented event, which not only promotes a healthy lifestyle, we also hope to demonstrate the spirit of Sunsuria City’s guiding principles – Smart, Livable & Sustainable (SLS), which will be the key foundation in everything we plan to develop in this integrated master-planned township for our customers” said Tan Sri Datuk Ter Leong Yap.
Participants were given two categories – 3km Family Run or the longer 6km Fun Run to pick from. At the finish line, all participants were given a glow in dark finisher medal and RM10.00 cash voucher to be spent at the mini fest, where more than 10 food trucks and vendors were present to serve the participants and the general public.
Participants also took part in some on stage mini games and contests, and lucky draws with prizes worth up to RM15,000. The grand prizes included a Sony PlayStation 4 PRO worth RM1,799, and a Manchester United FC 2016/17 Home Jersey signed by the Manager and 17 first team players worth RM2,999.
After the lucky draw session, participants stayed behind and watch the Premier League match between Arsenal vs Manchester United on live telecast at 1.30am. Participants went home with a smiley face as their favourite team, Manchester United won 3-1.
