High Heel Dash 2015, 23rd May 2015, KUALA LUMPUR
It was a double home-run for Lim Chern Yit, the winner of the first High Heel Dash in Malaysia. Lim, who joined the Dash as part of his company’s CSR initiative, walked away with the grand prize of a pair of return tickets to London. He also won the first prize in the Men’s Division and was awarded a pair of return tickets to Phuket.
The High Heel Dash is the first-ever high heel race in Malaysia that took place at The Square, Publika, Kuala Lumpur. The event was created to celebrate women empowerment in Malaysia and in support of Women’s Aid Organization (WAO). The High Heel Dash paired up with SimplyGiving.com, Asia’s largest online giving community, to empower participants to go the extra mile and fundraise for WAO.
Participants could choose to pay the registration fee of RM150 or to fundraise for WAO via SimplyGiving.com. For those who managed to raise a minimum of RM300 worth of donations, they got into the race for free. The proceeds were channeled directly towards WAO, which needs the funds to refurbish the shelter for women who are survivors of domestic violence.
