Don’t just chase your dream, run them down! As how a sport science student balances both his academic and athletic life impeccably. Nothing will stop this determined and goal-driven young lad, who is born to rise.

WHEN I WAS YOUNGER I only started as a casual runner without a proper training, like 3 times a week in the park, run a 3km, I couldn’t even run more than 5km, then rest, speed the 3km, repeats cycle, and that’s it! *laughs* But it was really my sister who brought me into running. She runs the major events. Standard Chartered KL Marathon, Adidas King of the Road, Nike’s We Run KL, name it. At first, I only aimed for the medal and the t-shirt, I only wanted the medal for my future son/daughter for them to proudly say that “Wow my dad is an achiever!”and I’m not fast as well, then later on I realized I had the potential to be in top 10, I’m a competitive runner, I like to FIGHT for it! I don’t want to just run for fun, I wanted to achieve something more. After a year I got top 10 in a race.

GETTING MY FEET BACK ON TRACK is by cross training, my sort of alternative after I had a 3-month running hiatus due to my injury I got during a race. I did aqua swimming, I bought the aqua belt, it’s being strapped in my waist and then I can float on the water. I can still do my running drills and I can move without having any impact.I did cycling as well to maintain my stamina and cardio fitness and a lot of planking and push ups to build up my body strength. But “I’ll admit during those months it’s really painful because you get to see your friends running, posting it on Facebook and you can’t run at all.”However, if you want something so bad, difficulties can’t stop you, it only gives you a little push in the right direction. Use this as a motivation instead.
