Soldier, Marathon Athlete, Father
There are few acclaimed runners as competent as Muhaizar Bin Mohamad. In his records, which have acquired since 2005, he has achieved championships in more than 30 marathons. With that being said, he has become a proficient runner who also has been chosen as the Malaysian representative of Southeast Asian Games 2017; the shorthand way to introduce a discussion of his achievements.
Most runners take umpteen years of hard-work and effort to attain championships in marathons, but Muhaizar isn’t your average runner.He is an enormously diligent army man in the Malaysian Armed Forces, a marathon athlete on the ground, as well as a loving father of three.
Grasping a passion for various sports such as off-road running, trial running, hiking, and triathlon, Muhaizar usually indulges himself in more trainings at his work place. On working days as a responsible military man, his role is to defend the sovereignty and strategic interests of Malaysia from all forms of threat, preserve public order, assist in natural disasters, and participate in national development programs.
“With every marathon I run, I hope to improve and achieve higher.”
Not only has he had to carry weighty responsibilities to the country, portraying a positive reputation representing Malaysian Armed Forces; he is also specialized in marathon trainings for competitions.
This 31-year-old down-to-earth guy, achieved his first gold medal in Penang Bridge International Marathon back in year 2013. Having never trained professionally in his previous years, he marvelled as he was podiumed with outstanding results.
“I never thought I would pull off in a full-marathon. It was really hard because I was not trained professionally.” He recalled.
Running helped Muhaizar find his self-determination that he longed for.
