As the iconic tower for Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia, and the tallest telecommunication tower in Southeast Asia and the 7th tallest in the world, KL Tower once again will be organising its 19th edition of KL Tower International Towerthon Challenge, on Sunday, 5th April 2020, starting as early as 5.00am in the morning.
With the theme of “Challenge Your Limit”, this annual event will be held with the objectives of providing opportunities to participants who want to test their physical and mental endurance and to challenge themselves to conquer the top of KL Tower.
The event will start at the Tower Terrace green area near the lobby area. Then, participants will start to climb the staircases up to the Megaview Banquet Hall, TH03 located at the 288 meters above the ground level.
The 1st wave consisting of elite and professional runners will be flagged off to compete for a champion trophy before the starting of Men Open category flag-off. The top 120 best timing finishers in 6 categories will win a special finisher t-shirt.
This year, the event is open to all Malaysians and foreigners and its is limited to 3,000 participants only. There are 6 categories that will be contested and they are, Men Open category (18 to 39 years), Men Veteran category (40 years and above), Women Open category (18 to 39 years), Women Veteran category (40 years and above), Boys Junior category (13 to 17 years), and Girls Junior category (13 to 17 years).
The highest ranked Malaysian in the Men Open and Women Open categories will entitle for RM2,000 each and also will represent Malaysia in the World Tower Running Championship 2021.
The entry fee for Malaysian Men or Women is RM92.50, Malaysian Boys or Girls Junior is RM52.50, and Non-Malaysian is RM132.50.
