What You Need To Know About Saucony Triumph 17

The cushioning on this shoe is the standout feature.

Updated to be lighter and softer than before, the Saucony Triumph 17 provides soft, responsive cushioning, and more comfort on your long runs.

New PWRRUN+ midsole is softer, lighter, and springier

From EVERUN, Saucony updated its midsole to PWRRUN, which makes the Triumph 17 an overall softer shoe. The shoe’s midsole is 28% lighter than its previous model the ISO 5, but its softer and more responsive ride maintains the same high energy return that the model is known for.

The fit has also been updated, as the upper has now been made softer and more flexible, so that it can fit itself to each individual foot to an even greater degree. It almost feels as if there is foam in the upper material.

A facelift for the upper

This running shoe is plush from heel to toe. The plush feel is continued to the upper with a brand new fit system. Getting rid of the ISOFIT, the Triumph 17 features a soft mesh around your forefoot and midfoot for a snug fit.

Starting with the threaded shoelaces, every touch is soft. The moulded heel collar has also got a noticeably soft and great fitted feel which long-distance runners might like.

Thicker tongue and heel counter

Runners who suffer from Achilles and flexor tendon issues, will rejoice in the pillowy padding of the heel counter.

The wider, softer tongue and thickly padded heel collar create a pillow-like sensation on your run.

Durable outsole and secure grip

The outsole pattern of the shoe differs very little from the Triumph ISO. The shoe retains the same structural components: two types of highly-durable blown rubber cover almost the entire outsole for a sticky, secure grip.

An ultra-grippy rubber compound is used under the big toe and heel for added traction in these high-wear locations.  The outsole grip on wet or slippery surfaces is one of the most surprising and impressive features of the shoe.

Who is the Saucony Triumph 17 best for?

If you are planning to run long distance or hit your high mileage, this pair is for you.

This may not be your fast race-day shoe. But it can also be the ideal running shoe for your easy recovery runs.
