Imagine the power of two of the world’s greatest athletes joined together. That’s how TaiSPO 2017 is, as it happened concurrently with the 30th anniversary of Taipei CYCLE at the NANGANG Exhibition Hall. The massive success of these overlapping events goes to show that the sporting market is relatively growing.

Although TaiSPO is an indicator of trends in the sporting goods industry, the TaiSPO Awards of Excellence and Merit Award, organized by the Department of Industrial Technology and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and executed by TAITRA and CHC (Cycling & Health Tech Industry R&D Center), also gave a sneak peek at the latest and most innovative products in the sporting goods industry. It also highlighted the new directions in which sporting product development is heading.

Eleven firms won the titles this year, including DYACO, JOHNSON, BODYORBIT, TITAN SPORT, TBS GROUP, CHI HUA, T.K. CHIN, JEOU LUH, WEI CHAN, FIRST RANK AND EXQUIS. These companies’ winning products constantly underscore the importance of versatility and durability. In addition, they also show how fitness equipment is starting to be multi-functional, compact and convenient in order to meet the demand for home exercise.

Upon entering the hall you can feel the sporty vibe this exhibition exudes. Jammed with sports enthusiasts and prospect buyers, each sports companies present their core products with excellence, confidence and quality standard. A line-up of advanced sports equipment and accessories have filled the place from prescription swimming goggles to seam free compression pants. The Show floors were also opened to the public during the last two days of the event, giving the public this occasional opportunity to take a glimpse of the cutting-edge sporting goods from the top sport-focused companies.

Other than that, at this year’s TaiSPO, a comprehensive overview of marathon and fitness were given during the two forums conducted, the “TaiSPO Marathon and Sports Marketing Forum and TaiSPO Fitness Industry and Fitness Club Management Forum” and appealed nearly 300 professionals. Key speakers included Tadaaki Hayano, the Director/CSO of Tokyo Marathon Foundation Race, and Alex Miao, the CFO of Fitness Factory offered rare backgrounders and insights on the business of marathons and fitness.

After 40 years of progress, TaiSPO continues to stand strong as the second largest sporting goods show in Asia, a world-class trade event which has been also in good connection with the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) to hold Manufactures Forum for 4 consecutive years. And now, TaiSPO 2018 will enter its 45th edition, scheduled for March 7 to 10 at the TWTC Hall 1 and 3. TaiSPO 2018, we will be ready for you!
